Racism, as much as we hate to admit, is a problem in our country. It's not the same as it was 100 years ago. Black people aren't slaves. They aren't legally considered 3/5th of a person.

But, they are victims of a less visible racism. They're victims of veiled prejudice held by many people in our country.

Even me.

Should we wait to hear from God in order to make an important decision in our life? The problem with that question is that it assumes hearing from God is a thing we should expect, which is an assumption we have no good reason to make.

My wife listens to NPR while in the car. I could take it or leave it. But one day we got in the car to go somewhere (I don't remember where) and NPR was playing. I would normally turn it off or something, and I started to, but then I noticed what was on, and decided to take a listen.

An Open Mind

G. K. Chesterton once said that "The object of opening the mind, as of opening the mouth, is to shut it again on something solid."
